WordPress SEO Plugin

Published on 16/5/2011 at 3:31 pm

We’ve just released what should definitely now be regarded as the World’s best WordPress SEO Plugin, for free, at wordpress.org!

Hence this post, as it’d be lovely if more folk got to find it :)

What’s it got in it, well, it’s pretty hot, just for a start, there’s:

  • Sitemap generation
  • Automatic Title and Meta optimization
  • Automatic link-generation [how cool is that!]
  • Support for custom post types
  • Multisite support
  • Unlimited items in sitemaps
  • Custom keywords recognition and rewriting
  • Easy access to SEOMoz urlmetric reports
  • Unlimited Title and Meta optimization values

Hear that bit about SEOMoz  metrics, pretty neat huh… not only does it set your site up, but it then analyzes how well you’re doing.

Anyway, enjoy and download here.

WordPress Chat Plugin

Published on 14/11/2010 at 11:38 am

And, for the moment at least ;). here’s the final featured new plugin offered over at WPMU DEV.

The rather fantastic – something you’ve always wanted – WordPress Chat Plugin!

What does this plugin do, well it:

  • Allows you to have as many live chat sessions on as many pages or posts of your site as you want
  • Allows login by registered users of your blog, the general public, Twitter or Facebook
  • Provides you with ‘bottom corner’ chat to engage visitors to your site
  • Keeps, and publishes, full and complete logs
  • And much, much more

So go check it out, I reckon you’ll be impressed.

WordPress Membership

Published on 13/11/2010 at 9:28 am

Then, hot on the tails of our spanking new WordPress ecommerce plugin we’ve also got an rather brilliant new plugin simply called, WordPress Membership.

And what does it do I hear you ask… well, quite simply it allows you to set up a fully functional paid members site, using WordPress, in no time at all!

WordPress Memebership will rock your world

WordPress Memebership will rock your world

So, say – for example – you wanted to start up a site where you offered live tutorials (maybe using the WordPress Chat Plugin!) or pre-recorded videos or simply learning materials and ebooks – you could set that up within literally minutes of having installed this plugin.

And, perhaps most importantly, it comes with a  fully featured subscription service via PayPal – which allows you to provide an ongoing service to ongoing paying users!

Bit to be honest, that’s barely scratching the surface of what this plugin is capable of… there are an almost infinite number of different levels possible, including free ones, coupon systems, wordpress affiliate integration and a heap more good stuff too.

For more info there’s even a neat video:

Enjoy!

What does MarketPress do? Well what doesn’t it do!

MarketPress is the ultimate WordPress ecommerce plugin

MarketPress is the ultimate WordPress ecommerce plugin

First up it’s 100% BuddyPress ready, right from the start.

Then it’s fully ready with Authorize.net, PayPal and 2CO payment gatewyas… with new ones coming all the time.

And perhaps best of all, it’s also Multisite ready… so you can start a network of online stores, and take a % share of the proceeds from all of them!

How cool is that :) Start your own Etsy, Shopify or even, dare I say it, eBay!

And, of course, we’re improving and developing it all the time :) So, for all your WP ecommerce needs, give MarketPress a try!

Consider yourself warned, over the next few days I’m gonna feature a few recent (and rather spectacular) WPMU DEV Plugins.

WordPress Membership Plugin

Published on 10/6/2010 at 9:27 am

If you’re looking for the best WP membership plugin out there, and you;re already a WPMU DEV Member, you’ve just got it.

If you’re not a WPMU DEV member then it’s still the most affordable, functional and best supported paid members plugin you’ll find.

Check out the brand new WPMU DEV membership plugin here!

Just a taster…

You can use Membership to create…

  • A WordPress membership site, offering resources, forums, downloads, videos, support and more… with multiple different levels of membership and complete customizations
  • Multiple membership sites on a WPMU / WordPress MultiSite install – so any user of your site can have their own membership site, combine with Supporter to make this a feature they pay for – or you could run dozens of membership sites yourself
  • A BuddyPress membership site, where different groups and blogs are only visible to members, so members can join for free and then upgrade to key groups and forums

How to migrate from Ning to BuddyPress

Published on 19/4/2010 at 9:47 am

Gotta say, I’m completely amazed at the brilliant WPMU DEV turnaround speed and comprehensive goodness of this!

(nothing to do with me either, I’ve been out stuck at airports most of the weekend)

But check out the unreal new Ning to BuddyPress plugin now on offer at WPMU DEV.

Of course, this follows the news that Ning has culled free networks, if you really are interested in forming, sustaining and developing a great network (that you actually own!)… BuddyPress is a great place to start :)

The sploggers, they ‘aint happy

Published on 2/2/2010 at 7:43 am

Our new Anti Splog plugin for WPMU is upsetting the day of quite a few sploggers over at Edublogs… and they are taking the time to write in about it and tell us :D

Bear in mind they have all been manually submitted, by manual sploggers, to us, so that we might un-ban their blog. Here’s my favourite:

“this is not a spam, i’m just posting about a weight loss program!”

Published on 9/6/2009 at 11:21 am

To celebrate the revamp of the new WPMU DEV Premium site we’re going a bit WPMU crazy this week, including releasing a new theme/plugin every day this week (today it’s a great bbpress theme) and serializing the WPMU Manual (which is otherwise only available for Premium members).

Today you can get started with choosing a domain name / hosting platform and setting up your MySQL database and user.
