Results of mind mapping software survey by Chuck Frey

without comments

During the month of February 2007, just over 500 people participated in this online survey conducted by Chuk Frey – one of the thought leaders of Mind Mapping. This survey reveals how users got started using mind mapping software, and the biggest benefit they’re getting from it. Click here to download this report.

Some of the highlights of the result:

  • Two-thirds of respondents said the biggest benefit of mind mapping software is that it helps them to clarify their thinking.
  • Roughly two-thirds of users of mind mapping software also create hand-drawn mind maps.
  • Exporting maps to other formats and collaborating with coworkers are two areas where users of mind mapping software believe programs they’re using could be improved.
  • A large number of respondents shared some truly fascinating comments about the functionality they would like to see in future iterations of their mind mapping software.

On the same note, Anne Zelenka at Web Workers Daily wrote a comparative review of 3 web based mind mapping applications – bubbl.us, Mindomo, and MindMeister.

MindMeister, with its smooth keyboard access, information-dense display, and export-to-outline capability, is my favorite of the three.

I second that!
