Innovation…

Thomas wraps up his BB experience, one thing that stood out was:

“The theme of the conference, this year, was “Innovating Together.” I have to admit that I did not see anything truly innovative. I saw lots of folks with great ideas, lots of ways to implement, support, manage, etc., but nothing earth-shattering, nothing that invoked innovation.”

Go read the rest :o)

  1. Hey, I’m all for sockin’ it to ‘em when they deserve it, but to be fair to Blackboard, you kind of took his quotes out of context. Further on he wrote “while the concept of an LMS is not necessarily innovative, what Blackboard does with their LMS is.” Hardly a bashing of the company or the conference.

  2. Fair point, (but the link to the originbal gives me transparency :o) what made me laugh the other day was the way Bb quoted it:

“”And, so, today was the last day of the conference, which means itÂ’s time for some final thoughtsÂ… The conference over all was good, and I definitely enjoyed myself. I meet a number of good folks, learned quite a bit and had a good time, overall. Personally, I like conferences for two reasons: networking and to see how others use something I use. It sounds funny, but really, I know how to use this product, I know how we use itÂ… now, tell me how you use it. I just like to hear those kinds of things. Because of that, to me, it is hard to have a bad conference.”"

Seems like we’re both, um, guilty ;o)
