Melbourne Social Software Lunch

There are some seriously fascinating people in Melbourne (and briefly coming down from Sydney :) and I was lucky enough to have a great lunch today with Andrew Mitchell, Matt Moore, Michael Specht, Shawn Callahan & Andrew Rixon (who have, IMO, jobs to die for!)

We definitely need to have a big Melbourne day or two confab soon… too much on and too much effort involved in a big conference but I reckon we should be able to bootstrap something really cool provided we can get the venue.

try the Retro Cafe on Brunswick St. They have a large upper room that they let groups use (often for free if you have lunch/dinner there). Not sure about net access but I’m sure someone could figure something out.

Cool, sounds like a good plan, nice cafe too :)

I reckon an afternoon or so to start with… lunch and general chitchat followed by a few ‘led conversations’ and then more general chat & take it from there.

Any dates not good with you… sometime in Feb perhaps?

It was great to catch up with everyone. It is interesting sitting around the table listening to the perspectives of people who are just way more intelligent than me.

Sounds like a great idea! Early Feb, late Feb will just be bad for me with our first major “go live” at work.
