Where to put your 28MB Podcast?

Me and a mate were playing around with ourmedia trying to store some 28 Mb podcasts there but there’s a 10Mb limit on uploads and I can’t even get the publisher application to open, yet alone try to edit the settings (I’ve tried it through proxycap too but that’s equally blunt).

I would use IncSub but it’s getting dangerously full at the moment and I don’t want to push it and I would try to upload from home but my DSL upload speed is absolutely dire… it’d take hours.

He emailed it to me using yousendit which is ace but not a hosting solution of course.

Any suggestions or alternative solutions?

  1. Goodness, how long is it? At a low (audio-quality) bitrate, I’m getting 6 megabytes per hour – if you have a 5-hour podcast you should break it into parts. If not, you should reload it in Audacity and set the MP3 output bitrate a lot lower.

  2. It’s about mastering audio and includes songs demonstarting the differences :O) It’s pretty high quality!

  3. Hey James, are you sure about the 10MB limit? I was thinking about using them as well, but your message prompted me to go recheck. On the instruction page at OurMedia, I see this:

    Alternatively, you may select the Ourmedia Publisher tool, especially for files larger than 10 megabytes in size. That’s important to know, because transferring large files like video via a Web interface is an iffy proposition.

  4. Yeh, I tried that… doesn’t work on my xp machine, claims it can’t hook up to thye net (whether we’re direct or proxy) :(
